Welcome to the National Orthopaedic Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) Collaborative website

This is a private site for all DHBs participating in the Collaborative. It is a place where you can share documents, tools, links, videos and literature, as well as learn more about the Collaborative. Feel free to start a discussion on any of the posts.

In the News and Contacts section you will find a list of key contacts and information such as learning session agendas, stories written by the communications team, schedules of teleconferences and newsletters.

If you wish to search for a specific resource, use the subject/site filter box on the right. You are able to search by hip replacement, knee replacement, fractured NOF and by individual DHBs.

If you have resources you’d like to share with the group, email the site administrator on .

'Enhanced Recovery is an evidence-based approach to care. It is designed to prepare patients for, and reduce the total impact of, surgery, helping them to recover more quickly. It is a multi-modal approach similar to that of care bundles' - Henrik Kehlet (Professor of perioperative therapy/Head of Section of surgical pathophysiology, Rigshospitalet, Copenhagen University)
